Preparing for the Meet
Here are some tips to prepare you for each meet.
Visualize and increase attention to details.
It's never too late to improve technique, and you can never visualize the perfect race too many times. Do it while you're working out or while you're out of the pool.
Double your fruit and vegetable intake.
Double your water intake.
Speed is directly related to sleep, so get lots of it! Always try to wake up at least 3 hours before your race.
Stretching should be done both prior to and after any exercise, i.e., swimming. Daily stretching will prevent injuries and enhance your racing performance tremendously.
Laugh and Have Fun!
Believe it or not, the better you feel, the better the race. So smile and laugh a lot!
